Network boot configuration
For
one time boot from network card
.
Usually there is a
Boot Menu
that is activated on pc startup by pressing a function key like
F10
,
F11
, or
F12
For
permanent boot from network card
, we enter BIOS after pressing
del
key or suitable function key.
We locate
onboard
LAN
boot option
and set it to enabled. It is usually an option like
Boot from
LAN
ή
PXE boot
Then we set network card as 1st boot device. It is usually on a menu like
Boot Settings
,
Boot Devices
or
Boot Priority
We can setup
Wake on
LAN
(optionally, to be able to wake the client PCs from server)
It is usually an option like
wake from pci device
(usually on acpi or power settings)
